OPEN CALL for Winter-Spring 2027

Copper Leg Art Residency invites visual artists, land art practitioners and sound artists to apply for residencies in a quiet landscape setting in Vaskjala village, Rae Parish, Harju County, Estonia.  

Situated in an old school building surrounded by fields, paths, hedges, a garden and open terrain, Copper Leg offers time and space for research, crafting and reflection. We welcome work that engages with land, site, material, environment, ecology, spatial processes or landscape intervention — whether through ecological inquiry, site‑specific practice, material exploration, installation, or visual work that thinks with land conceptually or physically. 

Residency Details 

  • Residency period: January-May 2027 
  • Duration: 2 weeks – 2 months 
  • Location: Vaskjala, Rae Parish, Harju County, Estonia 
  • Application deadline: October 4th, 2026 

What Copper Leg Offers 

  • Home‑type accommodation with private bedrooms, shared kitchen, sauna, located within a calm rural landscape
  • Shared studio space and access to tools (e.g., darkroom, printing press, basic workshop tools)

  • Time and focus for artistic development in close proximity to land and environment
  • Opportunity to share your practice through public engagement — open studio, workshop, walk, talk or presentation (timing and format by agreement)

  • Willingness to share part of your process publicly through an event, walk, talk or workshop
