Laura De Jaeger (1995) is a Belgian artist based in Tallinn, Estonia. Her art practice revolves around the notion of in-between, by gathering, molding, playing with measurements, and rephrasing local histories and quotidian practices. She describes it as a form of experimental, autobiographical, and material writing. She obtained her BA and MA in Fine Arts at LUCA School of Arts in Belgium (with an exchange at the Estonian Academy of Arts) and her MA in Cultural Studies at the Catholic research university in the city of Leuven, Belgium. During her stay at Copper Leg Art Residency, she aims to work with the outdoor space and experiment with photography and fiction.  The artist residency is supported by Flanders State of the Art

Vita Jončić was born in 1995 in Zagreb. She graduated with a BA in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb (2017), and she holds an MA in Film from the University of the Arts London, London College of Communication (2018). She creates in the medium of film, photography, painting, video, and spatial installations. In her recent work, her main subjects are the occurrences created by the human presence in nature as well as the roles and impacts of an individual on building the structure of society. On Copper Leg residency in April, she created an installation “We’ll Always Have Fire” (soil, water, plastic, video installation) which deals with the ecological condition of the four elements that support life.

Mariam Saknelashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 2002. She studies at Tbilisi State University in the faculty of French philology. Mariam has been interested in the arts since preschool age, and since then she has been experimenting with different mediums, such as painting with different techniques, shooting analog film, making animations, also making sounds for her animations.

Her first participation in a group exhibition was in 2020. In her art, she tries to capture the magic of everyday life and is inspired by magical realism. In her works often something small but unusual happens but it is always part of the whole environment. She is fascinated by places, animals, characters, and human faces. She also says that she is fascinated by the idea of storytelling through just a face of character and storytelling, in general, is her main tool in art.

At Copper Leg Art Residency Mariam experimented with animation making using linocut prints and she plans to make memorials for the mouse and the bird which died at Copper Leg during her residency and are buried in the yard.
